Over 30% of the UK population suffer from allergies at some time in their lives this proportion is predicted to grow. It is therefore important that companies are able to provide products that can be used safely by allergy sufferers. At NPARU we test products to independent accreditation schemes. Products may be tested for efficiency in reducing, restricting or removing allergens of
We also test for bacteria removal, reduction and control.

Benefits of working with us NPARU develops and uses standard testing protocols to test products. We collect comparative and repeat data on the efficiency of products against particular allergens. For example, allergens that can occur in dust (such as Fel d1 from cats and Der p1 from house dust mites) are quantified by immunological techniques such as Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Allergens can be monitored directly from the air or on/in other materials during controlled test conditions. These materials could be the product itself – e.g. if the product is bedding material, or could be on a surface such as carpet – if the product is a vacuum cleaner. We have experience in testing both prototype and near-to-market products and can provide advice to help develop these to market. Tests are generally carried out at our facilities, however some product units (such as whole-house ventilation or air purification systems) which are necessarily required to be tested in the actual environment of use may be tested in a custom installation. At NPARU we aim to provide a professional, impartial and consistent service to all our clients in the UK and across the world.
